It Ends With Us: Blake Lively Reacts to Justin Baldoni’s Video

Blake Lively’s legal representatives have publicly addressed the recently leaked video related to It Ends With Us, asserting that this incident validates their long-standing criticisms of Justin Baldoni.

In an official statement provided to The Hollywood Reporter, Lively’s attorneys described the leaked video as merely “manufactured media stunts.” They emphasized that this footage substantiates their claims about Baldoni, labeling it as “damning” evidence that aligns closely with Lively’s allegations. They argued that the video serves to reinforce the veracity of what Lively has asserted right from the beginning of her complaint.

“Justin Baldoni and his legal counsel might believe this latest stunt will help mitigate the negative impact of the evidence against him, yet the video is unequivocally incriminating,” stated Lively’s lawyers. “Each frame of the released footage meticulously corroborates what Ms. Lively articulated in paragraph 48 of her complaint. The footage depicts Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in towards Ms. Lively with the intent to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, and caressing her while commenting on her scent. This behavior was entirely improvised by Mr. Baldoni without any prior discussion or consent, and notably, no intimacy coordinator was present.”

The controversial video was disseminated by Baldoni’s legal team, who released a selection of behind-the-scenes clips from the filming of It Ends With Us. Viewers can observe Baldoni and Lively engaging in a dance for one of the film’s scenes, which adds further context to the allegations being made.

In the footage, the duo can also be overheard joking about their interactions while dancing, including light-hearted banter about whether they converse with their significant others during such moments, as well as playful remarks about Baldoni’s nose size. Baldoni’s legal team contends that the release of this video is critical due to Lively’s initial allegations of sexual harassment against the filmmaker, which they seek to counter.

Lively’s complaint details that during a pivotal slow-dancing scene, Baldoni ceased to act in character and began making comments about Lively’s appearance and fragrance that were unrelated to the plot of the film. Baldoni’s legal team maintains that the video contradicts these assertions and challenges several elements of Lively’s claims. However, the extent of the footage that was released remains unclear, as it is uncertain whether additional recordings exist that could corroborate Lively’s allegations.

Blake Lively’s Lawsuit Alleges Creation of a Hostile Work Environment by Baldoni

The lawsuit originated from a formal complaint that Blake Lively lodged against Baldoni last month, highlighting severe concerns regarding the work environment during the filming of It Ends With Us. Lively reported that conditions escalated to such a degree that a company-wide meeting was convened to address her allegations of a hostile work environment. During this pivotal meeting, Lively explicitly requested that Baldoni cease showing her nude videos or images of women, refrain from discussing his pornography addiction with her, and stop making comments about sexual experiences and her weight in her presence.

Moreover, the complaint asserts that an agreement was reached between the production company, Wayfarer Studios, and the cast to promote the film by focusing more on the strength and resilience of Lively’s character, rather than framing it solely as a narrative about domestic violence. However, Lively claims that Baldoni ultimately failed to uphold this agreement, instead choosing to speak publicly about the film’s serious themes in interviews.

Additionally, Lively alleged that Baldoni, along with his PR manager Melissa Nathan, conspired to initiate a social media campaign aimed at damaging her reputation. The filing includes a troubling 22-page exchange of text messages between Baldoni’s publicist and Nathan, wherein they discuss plans to “bury” Lively, raising serious concerns about the ethical practices surrounding their public relations strategies.
