The highly anticipated anniversary celebration will kick off on May 1, featuring two unforgettable nights with the renowned band Authority Zero. The first night will showcase an acoustic performance of their popular album “Rhythm & Booze,” providing fans with a unique opportunity to enjoy a more intimate setting as the performance will be recorded for their upcoming live acoustic release. On the following night, Authority Zero will bring the energy to the stage with a high-voltage performance, promising an exhilarating experience for all attendees.

The Rebel Lounge, which opened its doors on May 20, 2015, has become a cornerstone of the Phoenix music scene, thanks to the vision of Stephen Chilton from Psyko Steve Presents and musician Chuckie Duff of Dear and the Headlights. Over the past decade, this vibrant venue has garnered numerous accolades, including awards for Best Punk Club, Best Rock Club, Best Marquee, Best Mural, and Best Rebooted Venue from the Phoenix New Times. In 2024, the prestigious Billboard magazine recognized The Rebel Lounge as the Best Venue Under 500-Capacity in their esteemed list of Top Music Venues, further solidifying its reputation as a must-visit destination for music lovers.

“As we began brainstorming ideas to celebrate The Rebel Lounge’s remarkable 10-year journey, we realized that selecting only one band for the celebration would not do justice to the diverse musical landscape we have fostered,” said Chilton in a statement. “We were inspired to create a series of events that would resonate with all the music fans in the valley who have supported The Rebel Lounge over the years, ensuring that everyone has something to enjoy during this significant milestone.”

Chilton emphasized that the primary aim of the anniversary series is to showcase the rich diversity of artists and local talent that have graced the stage of The Rebel Lounge throughout its history. This celebration is not just a reflection of the past but a vibrant look into the future of the venue, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and community support in fostering a thriving music culture.

The lineup for the anniversary series is packed with exciting performances, including Roger Clyne & PH Naffah, who will return to the Rebel Lounge to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on May 5. Metal enthusiasts can look forward to seeing the legendary thrash metal band Sacred Reich on May 16, followed by The Summer Set on May 17, who will promote their latest single “I Don’t Wanna Party.” Additionally, rap metal favorites Dropout Kings will take the stage on May 28 before heading out on tour for the Motocultor Festival and Odyssea.

In a true celebration of local talent, the anniversary series will also highlight artists who launched their careers at The Rebel Lounge, including the Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra performing on May 22, the beloved emo night event EmoNightPhx on May 3, and the long-standing hip hop and dance showcase Blunt Club scheduled for May 23. These events aim to bring together a diverse array of music genres, ensuring that there is something for everyone in the community to enjoy.
