Tragically, two-time state diving champion Maisey O’Donnell, along with her classmates Jimmy McIntosh and Hannah Wasserman, all vibrant seniors at Concord-Carlisle High School, lost their lives in a devastating car accident in Florida. This heartbreaking incident occurred just over a month prior to their anticipated graduation, marking a significant milestone in their young lives. In addition, a fourth passenger, an 18-year-old woman, is currently battling for her life in critical condition, highlighting the serious nature of this tragic event.
On the evening of April 21, shortly before 9:30 p.m., the group of high school seniors, all aged 18, were traveling in an SUV on a busy highway in the Florida Panhandle. This date coincided with the commencement of their school’s spring break, a time typically filled with excitement and anticipation. Unfortunately, their vehicle collided violently with a tractor-trailer that was attempting a U-turn on a paved median. This was confirmed by the Florida Highway Patrol in a statement to E! News, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
Following the collision, the SUV carrying the teenagers was propelled across the median and both eastbound lanes before finally coming to a rest off the side of the road, a scene of chaos and tragedy. According to police reports, both Jimmy, who was driving, and Hannah were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving their families and friends in shock. Maisey and the unnamed fourth passenger were critically injured and transported to a hospital for urgent medical care, highlighting the severe consequences of this unfortunate incident.
