Foo Fighters have been gradually returning to the touring scene after a long hiatus, and they have just announced an extensive North American stadium tour for 2026.
The tour will commence on August 4 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, concluding on September 26 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. They will be joined by Queens of the Stone Age, who will open for all shows except for the stop in Fargo on September 12. This marks the band’s first major tour in the U.S. since welcoming new drummer Ilan Rubin from Nine Inch Nails, who replaced former drummer Josh Freese.
Where Are Foo Fighters Playing?
Prior to the tour announcement, Foo Fighters had already scheduled shows in Indonesia, Singapore, and Japan. Upcoming dates also include performances in Mexico on November 12 and 14. These bookings followed several surprise shows in Southern California and the East Coast, where the band tested the waters with Rubin.

What Else Did Dave Grohl Say About the Tour?
Dive Grohl shared insights about the inspiration behind the upcoming tour dates: “Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are devoted to this Foo Fighters journey. From reuniting as a band and looking at a list of songs spanning over thirty years to reimagining them with Ilan Rubin behind the drums and reconnecting with our amazing fans, we have a solid core. The sun is finally rising over the horizon.”
“What better way to share this view than with close friends,” he continued. “In 1992 I first saw legendary Kyuss perform in Seattle and met Josh Homme. Their album Blues for the Red Sun, became my summer soundtrack. Now, after many miles together, I am thrilled to share this next chapter with Queens of the Stone Age.”
How Did Foo Fighters Tease Their New Tour?
The band humorously teased their return with a video emphasizing their commitment to delivering “the real human element of rock ‘n’ roll,” while poking fun at AI-generated content.
“Hey everyone, it’s been a while! I’m excited to announce that Foo Fighters are back to bring you that genuine rock ‘n’ roll experience,” said Dave Grohl.
Bassist Nate Mendel added, “After thirty years as a band, we’ve realized that what matters most is that what you hear from our speakers reflects our genuine passion as living musicians.”
“Just like our heroes before us, we want you to feel that authenticity,” guitarist Pat Smear remarked before Chris Shiflett added, “We’ve been working hard to prepare something special for you.”
The video ends with Grohl humorously stating, “And wait until you meet our new drummer,” showcasing Ilan Rubin playing multiple drums.
A Message From Foo Fighters
More About Foo Fighters’ Return
The Foo Fighters took an extended break after promoting their album But Here We Are, which was their first release following drummer Taylor Hawkins’ passing.
This period was further complicated by Grohl’s public acknowledgment of personal issues and family matters. The band had effectively ceased touring but canceled their last festival appearance as Grohl focused on his family.
A shift began in early July when they released “Today’s Song” for their thirtieth anniversary.
A few select international dates were announced followed by surprise shows in Southern California and on the East Coast. Now with this stadium tour announcement for (2026), it seems Foo Fighters are making a full comeback.
