Metallica has officially expanded their M72 World Tour into 2026, revealing an exciting lineup of European tour dates for the upcoming spring and summer seasons. This tour promises to feature support from some of the most renowned names in the heavy metal genre, adding to the anticipation of fans worldwide.
The European leg of the tour is set to kick off on May 9 in Athens, Greece, and will conclude on July 5 in London. Notably, four cities—Frankfurt, Budapest, Dublin, and London—will host two consecutive shows as part of the band’s iconic No Repeat Weekend tradition. Meanwhile, other cities will offer exclusive one-night-only performances, making each concert a unique experience for attendees.
Opening for Metallica on most of the tour dates will be the legendary French metal band Gojira and the rising hardcore sensation Knocked Loose. Additionally, fans can look forward to special performances by the iconic Pantera and the theatrical metal outfit Avatar, who will support some of the No Repeat Weekend shows, amplifying the excitement surrounding the tour.

This ongoing M72 World Tour serves as a promotion for Metallica’s latest album, released in 2023, titled 72 Seasons. The band has promised a spectacular stadium production that will feature a mid-field in-the-round setup, complete with a Snake Pit at the center of the stage, ensuring a thrilling 360° viewing experience for all concert-goers. Fans will also be thrilled to see Metallica returning to cities they haven’t performed in for decades, including Cardiff, Wales, where they last played in 1996.
