This renewal marks a significant commitment to delivering premium entertainment options to viewers in Spain, reflecting the evolving landscape of media consumption and audience preferences.

The new agreement guarantees that Movistar Plus+ will remain the exclusive Pay 1 home for Sony Pictures films in Spain, following their theatrical releases and home entertainment availability. Among the highly anticipated titles set to debut are “28 Years Later,” “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” and “Karate Kid: Legends.” These films are expected to captivate audiences, reinforcing Movistar Plus+‘s position as a leading provider of premium film content in the region.

This agreement also encompasses Sony’s extensive film catalog, which features iconic franchises such as “Spider-Man,” “Ghostbusters,” “Jumanji,” “Men in Black,” “Bad Boys,” “Hotel Transylvania,” and “The Da Vinci Code.” Additionally, critically acclaimed films like “Whiplash,” “Little Women,” and “Call Me by Your Name” will continue to be available. Timeless classics such as “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” “Easy Rider,” “A Few Good Men,” “Kramer vs. Kramer,” and “My Best Friend’s Wedding” will also remain accessible, enriching the viewing experience for subscribers.

In addition to the film offerings, Movistar Plus+ will retain Sony’s AXN channel within its linear programming lineup and will also reintroduce AXN Movies, a channel dedicated to blockbuster films. AXN has been a staple in Spain for over 25 years, showcasing hit series such as “The Good Doctor,” “Criminal Minds,” “Chicago Fire,” and “S.W.A.T..” This continued presence underscores the value of high-quality programming for Spanish viewers.

The on-demand aspect of this partnership provides subscribers with access to over 100 complete series through AXN Now, all at no extra charge. Some standout series include “Damages,” featuring renowned actors Glenn Close and Rose Byrne; “The Shield,” and various Sony Pictures Television originals like “Twisted Metal,” “High Country,” and “Accused.” This extensive library ensures that subscribers have a wide array of viewing options at their fingertips.
