Who is the decomposed body in the bathtub of 56 Days?
The decomposing body in Oliver’s apartment is his counselor and unlicensed therapist, Dan Troxler. Dan was aware of Oliver’s dark past, where he killed his friend Paul after a fight. He constantly used that information to manipulate Oliver by threatening to expose it.
The series delivered another shocking twist when it was revealed that Ciara’s real name is Megan and she is actually the sister of Shane, Oliver, and Paul’s friend from their teenage years. After Paul died, Shane took the fall for his murder and eventually committed suicide in prison, leaving his sister to take revenge on Oliver. However, she began to develop genuine feelings for him and later realized it was Dan who manipulated Shane into killing himself.
After Megan revealed her true identity to Oliver, he realized that he loves her regardless of their past. So, when Dan attempted to manipulate Oliver one last time by convincing him to side with him instead of Megan, the pair decided to eliminate the nefarious therapist. Megan delivered a fatal blow to his head with a statue, killing him instantly. Megan and Oliver then covered up Dan’s murder by leaving him in the bathtub.

In addition to Dan, 56 Days featured two more unfortunate deaths in the series. In Episode 7, viewers discover what really happened between the three friends: Oliver, Shane, and Paul. After a heated argument broke out among them, Paul almost drowned Shane before Oliver intervened. However, he accidentally ended up killing Paul.
Although Shane and Oliver agreed never to speak of the incident, Oliver later placed the blame on Shane. While in prison, Dan became Shane’s therapist and manipulated him into committing suicide. Megan thus got her long-awaited revenge when she ultimately killed Dan at the end.
