Khloé Kardashian is taking a moment to reflect on the overwhelming public response she received following her significant weight loss transformation. The attention surrounding her body and image has sparked discussions about self-esteem and societal expectations.

Simmons acknowledged that while she faces constant scrutiny as a fitness influencer, she can’t even begin to imagine the level of attention that comes with being a celebrity like Khloé.
When asked how she manages this criticism, Khloé replied, “It’s interesting. I found that when I was larger, I felt much more confident. I think it’s because I knew what people would say about me. I was prepared for all the comments, good or bad. Of course, there were days when I felt down, like anyone else.”
“As I embarked on my fitness journey and started getting in shape, I felt a strong urge to maintain this new lifestyle, driven not just by my own desires, but by a sense of responsibility to others. I thought to myself, ‘I can’t gain weight again, as everyone expects me to stay this way,’” she elaborated.
“Receiving a different kind of attention was also a significant change for me. As I grew older, I began to realize that it was unsettling,” she continued. “I disliked that the increase in attention was tied to my appearance rather than my personality or talents.”
As a mother of two, she confessed that the initial thrill of attention was short-lived once she recognized its superficial nature.
“As long as you are aware of the facade and recognize that it’s all just smoke and mirrors, you can navigate through it. I need to ensure that I’m doing this for myself, not for anyone else’s approval,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of self-acceptance.

Khloé shared that she often conducts “self check-ins” to evaluate her motivations and actions.
“Although it’s not necessarily a good thing, I tend to retreat and reflect when I face negative situations in life. During these moments, I ask myself, ‘Am I doing this for myself, or am I trying to impress someone else or conform to societal standards?’ No matter what conclusion I arrive at, realizing that I need to prioritize what’s best for me is crucial, and once you do that, the rest becomes irrelevant,” she explained.
The Kardashians star referenced the age-old saying, “With age comes wisdom,” affirming its truth as she has grown older.
“You find yourself thinking, ‘You don’t affect me the way you used to,’” she expressed to Simmons, highlighting her growth.
She reflected on the lessons learned through years of public commentary regarding her physical appearance.
“Initially, it’s incredibly challenging to endure all the external noise, but ultimately, it’s just that—noise,” she remarked. “I’ve come to understand that regardless of my weight—whether I was heavier or thinner—there will always be people with opinions. What matters most is how I feel about myself.”

“When I lost weight, I felt like I was betraying the larger community. People would say I am not myself anymore, that I’m no longer funny, or that I’ve changed in ways that I haven’t at my core,” Khloé reflected. “It’s just that my appearance has changed dramatically, yet I’m still the same person inside.”
“Once I truly came to terms with that, I realized that pleasing everyone is impossible, but what matters is my happiness. That’s what I prioritize,” she added.
Simmons highlighted Khloé’s earlier statement regarding how she “felt more confident” when she was heavier, describing her thoughts as “mind-blowing.”
Khloé agreed, acknowledging that it is indeed “mind-blowing,” while revealing that she “never considered herself fat until I appeared on television and everyone told me how fat I was.”
“Looking back, I realize I didn’t see myself as overweight, and it’s interesting because I now think, ‘I really wasn’t as heavy as I convinced myself I was.’ However, that was also a different era when societal standards were skewed towards extreme thinness,” she recalled.
Simmons, boasting three million followers on TikTok and four million on Instagram, shared that she “never dealt with such poor self-confidence and esteem” until she started posting workouts online, where critics would comment on her physical appearance.

Khloé pointed out that the online trolls are “not doing anything” but are simply “sitting on the couch judging you.”
“It’s always those who are really behind a computer, not contributing anything positive,” she added, highlighting the nature of online criticism.
Khloé subsequently addressed a recurring comment she receives regarding her weight loss journey.
“I often hear, ‘Oh, it must be easy when you have a trainer’ or ‘It must be easy with a home gym,’” she remarked. “Well, it wasn’t easy for years. I got my home gym four years ago, but what about the years it took me to get here?”
“Everyone wants to find an excuse,” she continued. “It wasn’t easy 15 years ago, but I didn’t use those excuses back then. I was at 24 Hour Fitness, doing what I needed to do to achieve my goals. People will always have something to say, regardless,” she stated.
Khloé added that she brushes off comments regarding her “form” while exercising. “I’m not a trainer, but it seems like they want to critique just to say, ‘Gotcha!’” she expressed, highlighting the challenges of public scrutiny.

In another part of the discussion, Khloé expressed her commitment to fostering a healthy body image for her 7-year-old daughter, True.
“We don’t focus on our bodies in a negative way—like how they look—but I love that she sees me working out and leading a healthy lifestyle,” she said, “but not in an obsessive manner.”
“I just want her to understand that I’m active,” she continued. “It doesn’t always have to be in the gym. We play outside or engage in activities together, and I love that.”
With a light-hearted comment about her “food addiction” due to her love for the children’s menu, Khloé expressed her desire for True to “see the balance” in her lifestyle.
“I want her to observe that I’m active because I prioritize my health and strength, enabling me to always play with her and do whatever she wants,” she added, “but I also want her to see me enjoying pizza occasionally.”
Khloé further noted that she often feels “nervous” about people “picking apart” their bodies on social media.
“These are the aspects I can’t control, so I aim to manage as much as I can within my home environment,” she shared, emphasizing her protective instincts as a parent.
