A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Star Hints at Tanselle’s Season 2 Fate

<em>A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms'</em> dramatic finale left many questions unanswered, paving the way for season 2, and one of the show’s stars, Tanzyn Crawford, addressed her character Tanselle’s fate.

Tanselle and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms protagonist, Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey), quickly formed a connection in the Game of Thrones spinoff. However, their story took a brutal turn when Prince Aerion Targaryen (Finn Bennett) severely overreacted and broke Tanselle’s finger because he was angry that she killed a dragon in a puppet show. Dunk rushed in to defend her by attacking the prince, which triggered the first trial of seven in a century.

The events that followed reshaped the realm. During the battle, Prince Maekar Targaryen (Sam Spruell) killed his brother, Prince Baelor Targaryen (Bertie Carvel), who was the heir to the Iron Throne. The tragic chain of events all traced back to Aerion and Tanselle’s ridiculous dispute. The finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms showed Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) and Dunk heading off on another journey to track down Tanselle.

In George R.R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novels, the titular team never actually reunites with her. As a result, viewers who have also read the books are wondering if they would ever see Crawford in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2. Since the first installment of the series has been widely considered to be an incredibly loyal adaptation of the novels, fans of the character are left anxious about her return. However, even the most faithful on-screen projects can deviate from the source material if it benefits the franchise.

In an interview with TV Insider, Crawford herself very cryptically hinted at Tanselle’s fate in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2. The actor revealed that she was looking forward to the show’s future and how her character’s story would continue. Unfortunately, she added that she wouldn’t be allowed to reveal anything more than that.

I would definitely love to continue her story and continue the Dunk and Tanselle connection, so I’m excited for the future of Tanselle. That’s all I can say.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 can now be streamed on HBO Max. Season 2 is expected to air in 2027. However, there is no set release date at the time of this article’s publication.
