Aaron Donald may have retired from the NFL, but a discus-throwing champion believes he could still excel in track and field.
TMZ Sports spoke with Reggie Jagers — who represented the USA in discus at the 2020 Tokyo Games — at LAX this month. He expressed confidence that Donald could compete in shot put at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles if he dedicated himself to it.
Jagers mentioned that there isn’t much technique required, and considering Donald’s immense strength and financial resources for training, he wouldn’t be surprised to see the former Ram succeed in the event.
In fact, Jagers offered to help prepare Donald, delivering a message to the future Pro Football Hall of Famer right at the airport.
“Aaron Donald, pull up,” he said. “I know you just retired. But in track and field, you could have a long career.”
It’s unclear whether Donald has ever attempted the sport, but we know that the 34-year-old remains in incredible shape. Just look at a workout he shared last week — he appears ready to rush the passer in the NFC West!
