Sarah Shahi is reflecting on her recent heartbreak.
More than eight months after the Sex/Life actress and her co-star Adam Demos reportedly ended their relationship following five years of dating, she shared her thoughts on the reality of being in a public relationship.
“There was an element of the relationship that people really felt belonged to them, which was very sweet and heartwarming,” Sarah told Us Weekly in an interview published on January 2. “The flip side is when things end, you feel like you’re going through it twice.”
The 45-year-old—who met Adam, 40, on the set of the Netflix series in 2021—added, “You’re going through it emotionally on a personal level, and then you’re going through it again on a much larger scale.”
However, Sarah is accustomed to making difficult but necessary changes in her life. For instance, ending her 11-year marriage to actor Steve Howey—with whom she shares William, 16, and 10-year-old twins Violet and Knox—in 2020 was a decision she had to make.
