‘Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra Express Heartfelt Message to Carly’s Adoptive Family
Tyler Baltierra is bravely sharing his personal insights.
In the midst of ongoing challenges with the adoptive parents of his and Catelynn Lowell’s biological daughter Carly, who is now 16 years old, the Teen Mom star candidly reflected that, with the benefit of hindsight, he would have made different choices regarding the adoption process.
“I regret placing my child for adoption,” Tyler expressed to Dr. Drew Pinsky—who is currently mediating their relationship with Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon Davis and Teresa Davis—during the season finale of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter that aired on May 22. “We didn’t realize that we would achieve financial stability. We were unaware that we would gain the resources necessary to improve our mental health and become better parents before bringing additional children into our family.”
The 33-year-old father, who is raising daughters Nova, 10, Vaeda, 6, and Rya, 3, alongside Catelynn, expressed that he felt they were “misled” throughout the adoption process, especially since Brandon and Teresa decided to close the adoption in 2023.
Tyler, who tied the knot with Catelynn in 2015, highlighted their appreciation for the couple who have provided a loving environment for Carly. However, he also admitted that the decision to keep them distant after initially agreeing to an open adoption has been an emotionally challenging experience for their family.
