Joe Perry has conveyed that he and his fellow Aerosmith bandmates are still considering the exciting possibility of a final performance, contingent upon Steven Tyler‘s health and ability to take the stage. This comes after the iconic rock band had to postpone and eventually cancel their Peace Out farewell tour following only three shows, resulting in an announcement about their retirement from touring last August due to Tyler’s significant vocal injury, which was deemed insurmountable.
Despite these setbacks, Tyler has made appearances at a few exclusive private events, including a memorable performance in April alongside Perry at the Janie's Fund benefit show in San Francisco. In a recent interview with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, Perry expressed optimism that Aerosmith may still take a final bow on stage.

Insights from Joe Perry on the Potential for a Final Aerosmith Show
Perry shared, “We talk probably a couple of times a week, and we played together at a charity event up in San Francisco.” He mentioned the presence of Chris Robinson on the bill, emphasizing the excitement of witnessing the two musicians exchange guitar riffs. The guitarist seemed hopeful about the chances of a concluding Aerosmith concert, stating, “We’re discussing it. I mean, aside from anything scheduled on the calendar, we’re all alive and in good health, so we’ll just have to see what happens.” He added, “I know there has to be at least one more Aerosmith gig, although I’m not particularly looking forward to putting together the set list for that event.”

Regarding Tyler‘s readiness for the demanding nature of a full concert, Perry remarked, “I believe he would be ready. It’s just about getting to that point, you know? We’re up there, man, and it can be a lot.” He further elaborated, “I’ve always approached every show as if it could be my last. I don’t mean to sound pessimistic, but I truly give my all every night. The first concert we did for that [farewell] tour that eventually got canceled felt like it was going to be another memorable one, but, you know, things happen.”
Joe Perry on the Exciting Hollywood Vampires Documentary and Upcoming Solo Tour in 2025
Perry also disclosed that the Hollywood Vampires, his supergroup featuring Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, are currently in the process of creating a documentary. “I just viewed a rough cut and it’s quite impressive,” he shared. “At the moment, everyone is busy, but I’m confident that in the back of everyone’s minds, there’s a desire to reunite.”
In the interim, Perry is preparing for a brief tour under the banner of the Joe Perry Project in August. This all-star lineup features fellow Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford, touring keyboardist and backing vocalist Buck Johnson, Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo, drummer Eric Kretz, and Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes taking on lead vocals.
“I’ve got enough energy left in me,” Perry asserted. “I still want to do [a final Aerosmith show], but for this project, I’m excited to get out there and perform. I’m grateful to have these incredible musicians join me for this journey. So, let’s see what unfolds.”
Comprehensive Ranking of Aerosmith Albums
Any ranking of Aerosmith albums from worst to best must navigate two distinct periods: their edgy and rebellious work in the ’70s and the polished, commercially successful revival in the ’80s. However, determining which era produced superior music remains a captivating debate.
