“When the news broke, I was inundated with calls from TMZ, and even journalists from England and France reached out because they were eager for a statement regarding the new theme,” said Tapia de Veer. “The public reaction has been intense, with countless fans expressing their anger over the change in direction, which I found quite fascinating. I texted the producer suggesting that, at some future point, we should consider releasing the longer version featuring the ooh-loo-loo-loos, as the audience would likely react explosively once they discover that it was originally intended to head in that direction. He agreed it was a promising idea. However, Mike</b] ultimately decided to cut it—he wasn't on board with that."
The composer further explained, “At that stage, we had already reached a breaking point in our collaboration, effectively having our last disagreement. His response was simply a refusal to entertain any new ideas.”
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on April 8, White referred to Tapia de Veer’s actions as a “b–ch move,” criticizing him for vocalizing his frustrations publicly.
“Honestly, I’m perplexed by the entire situation,” White expressed. “Now, I find myself reading his interviews where he seems to be launching a PR campaign regarding his departure from the show. It feels as if he doesn’t hold any respect for me.”
“We never truly had a serious conflict,” the producer elaborated. “He claims we were feuding, but in reality, it was just me providing him with constructive feedback.”
White noted that their collaboration “was effective” during the first two seasons, as they exchanged ideas freely. However, by the third season, Tapia de Veer “became unwilling to engage in the collaborative process with me, resisting feedback and opting out of sessions.”
Moreover, White remarked, “He is certainly amplifying a simple creative difference into something far more dramatic.”
