Susan Lucci expresses her desire to reprise the role of Erica Kane in All My Children movie reboots
Susan Lucci has shown significant interest in returning to her role as Erica Kane as Lifetime advances plans for new All My Children television films.
The actress addressed this possibility during her appearance on Kelly Ripa’s SiriusXM podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera. Ripa disclosed that she and her husband Mark Consuelos are developing two movies based on the former ABC daytime drama through their production company, Milojo. When asked if she would consider returning as Erica Kane, Lucci responded with enthusiasm, saying, “I would love to play Erica Kane again.”
Reflecting on her years portraying the character, she remarked, “It would be a lot of fun. Are you kidding? She was so much fun to play. My goodness, it was so much fun. I was serious when I said I would look at the scripts and go, ‘Really, I get to do this?’ This was a wonderful part.” Lucci also praised the creative team behind the project, stating they are “so important,” and added, “And I’ve been hearing good things about the writer, too.”
Lucci, who recently published her memoir La Lucci, has previously indicated that interest in reviving All My Children has remained strong for years. While promoting her memoir on the Soapy podcast, she mentioned, “It’s been bubbling for several years and just when I think it probably isn’t bubbling anymore, it’s bubbling. It’s bubbling as we speak!” Her comments surprised hosts Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart.
Lifetime’s involvement first came to light in September 2024. According to TVLine, the network was developing two television movies based on the soap opera, including a holiday-themed project. Since then, Lucci’s recent comments have provided the first significant update.
