Altered Trailer: Tom Felton Embraces His Inner Iron Man

Tom Felton is best known to fans for his work in the Harry Potter franchise. So much so that he’s returning to play Draco Malfoy in the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. But before he dives back into the wizarding world, he’s taking on a new kind of story: an original sci-fi movie called Altered. Collider is excited to share an exclusive look at the new film with its first trailer! In the trailer, Felton plays a “special,” a person who hasn’t been genetically enhanced, in a world that makes the “altered” elite.

Felton plays Leon, a normal guy in a world of genetic enhancements. But when a terrorist group attacks the elite and frames the “specials,” Leon finds himself caught in the mess of it all after trying to make quick cash on a too-good-to-be-true job offer. The film, by director Timo Vourensola, not only has fun with science fiction as a genre but also gives fans of sci-fi stories something new to dive into. Altered also stars Elizaveta Bugulova, Richard Brake, Aggy K. Adams, and Igor Zhizhikin.

“In a world where genetic enhancements have become the norm, rebels challenge the system

that exploits them.” The full synopsis for Altered is as follows:

“In an alternate present where genetic enhancements have become the norm, those who cannot take advantage are pushed into the underground. It’s up to a few brave souls to level the playing field for everyone, but every revolution has its cost. From Timo Vuorensola, visionary director of Iron Sky, and Tom Felton (Harry Potter Franchise) comes an exciting new tale of a dystopian Earth in need of a hero in Altered.”

A Fun New Take on Sci-Fi for Timo Vuorensola

Science Fiction has always been a boundary-pushing genre, and that is exactly why Vourensola was drawn to telling this story. “I’ve always been drawn to science fiction, especially when it offers fresh perspectives on the world we live in. Altered gave me a unique opportunity to explore social issues through a future that feels only a step away. It’s the kind of story that lets us tap into something meaningful, weaving it together with exciting action and emotional depth,” Vuorensola told Collider. And we can’t wait to see how the story plays out!

Fans can see Altered in theaters and on VOD on November 21. Check out our first look at the trailer above.
