Prime Video is undoubtedly one of the top streaming services available today, featuring some of the best shows. Their original series are exceptionally well-produced, with a great deal of love, care, and skill invested in their creation, allowing them to quickly ascend to the top ranks among streaming services worldwide.
A great show captivates its audience from beginning to end. While no show is flawless and may have moments where quality dips slightly, they are generally quite impressive. Ultimately, what truly matters is how the series addresses these issues and balances them out, demonstrating to the audience that they are not defeated. With the number of exceptional shows that Prime Video offers, it is the ideal destination for anyone seeking a new binge-watch experience.
‘The Boys’ (2019–Present)
One of the most explosive superhero shows of modern television is undoubtedly The Boys. This series offers a brutal, bloody, and gory experience that keeps even the most squeamish viewers on edge, as it strives to subvert typical superhero story tropes. It is so well-received that many consider it to be significantly better than the comic it is based on.
Homelander (Antony Starr) is one of the best-written villains on television in the past decade, creating mind games and tension like no other—not to mention his incredible score composed by Christopher Lennertz. The protagonists are all charming, humorous, and compelling overall. While the last season may not have measured up to previous ones, the overall quality of The Boys remains impressive.
‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ (2024–Present)
Based on the 2005 film of the same name, Mr. & Mrs. Smith has proven to be an incredibly entertaining show that some even claim surpasses the quality of the original film. The first season features the talented Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, while the second season is expected to star Sophie Thatcher and Mark Eydelshteyn, making the characters a highlight of this narrative.
The first season was quite successful, leading to an immediate renewal for a second season. Unfortunately, production on the sequel is currently on hold as significant changes occur within the creative team, meaning it is indefinitely paused—not cancelled—making this an ideal time for new viewers to catch up on the show. It has garnered 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, which should convince anyone of its quality.
‘Reacher’ (2022–Present)
The book series that Reacher is based on is one of the most popular thriller series ever written—originally by Lee Child. Previously adapted into a movie series starring Tom Cruise, those adaptations failed to capture the essence of the books. However, in 2022, Reacher, featuring Alan Ritchson, emerged and succeeded where the films fell short. No offense to Cruise, but this show has set a new standard for future adaptations.
Ritchson is undoubtedly an ideal choice for Jack Reacher, becoming synonymous with the character much like how Robert Downey Jr. did with Iron Man—it’s hard for audiences to envision anyone else portraying this iconic role. Each season has been not only well-written but also brilliantly executed in terms of action and direction, ensuring an engaging experience throughout. It offers a perfect blend of mystery, thriller, action, drama, and even romance—truly something for everyone despite its initial appearance as merely a “guy’s show.”

‘Invincible’ (2021–Present)
An additional superhero series from Prime Video that never holds back and is gaining worldwide popularity like Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) always intended is Invincible. Created by Robert Kirkman,Cory Walker, andRyan Ottley, this comic turned animated sensation has garnered immense love from fans. While some may note occasional hiccups in animation quality, they compensate by allocating their budget towards pivotal moments.
The success of the comic series(Invincible (2003), which led to this hit animated adaptation can be attributed to Kirkman’s excellent writing that continues to improve inInvincible. The show allows him to explore different narratives or add stories he couldn’t include in the comics—most recently showcased inInvincible‘s Season 4 Episode 4 titled “Hurm.” This has transformed the series into something truly remarkable.
