Angela Gossow Comments on Lauren Hart Joining Arch Enemy

Following the significant announcement last week that Once Human’s Lauren Hart would be the new singer for Arch Enemy, former vocalist and current manager Angela Gossow shared a detailed statement discussing their long-standing friendship, her efforts to find Lauren a band, and her reflections on possibly rejoining Arch Enemy herself before the decision was finalized.

What Did Angela Gossow Say About Lauren Hart?

In her social media post, Gossow elaborated on her enduring relationship with the former Once Human singer and expressed her admiration for Lauren’s talents.

Gossow referred to Hart as “my sister at [heart]” and remarked that she is “such a warm and genuine human.”

“We share the same taste in music, the same vocal technique, and dedication to music, people, and fitness,” Gossow stated regarding Hart. “We have known each other personally for many years. I have been following her journey with Once Human and was hoping for her breakthrough. Then I crossed my fingers for her joining another well-known metal band. It didn’t work out. She never gave up!”

Angela Gossow Once Had Another Idea in Mind for Lauren Hart

Although Hart’s journey has led her to Arch Enemy, that path almost didn’t materialize. According to Gossow, she was so fond of the singer that she envisioned forming a new band around her.

“I was considering putting a new band together for her – envisioning a crossover between Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy/In Flames, and Machine Head/Once Human styles,” Gossow recalled. “I asked her to send in various cover tracks to get a full picture of her vocal skills (she crushed it!) and started searching for musicians who matched her talent,” Gossow explained. “And then things happened in the Arch Enemy camp.”

Did Angela Gossow Consider Returning to Arch Enemy?

In 2014, Gossow stepped down from her position as Arch Enemy’s singer but remained closely involved with the group by managing the band. At that time, Alissa White-Gluz took over on vocals, leading to a very successful period for the band.

However, with White-Gluz deciding to pursue a solo career, a vacancy in the vocal position became available.

“I thought deeply about rejoining the band. I considered my life, my age, my still young children, and my workload as the manager for @archenemyofficial. The answer was no. Both emotionally and rationally,” Gossow reflected when contemplating a return as a full-fledged band member. She did conclude her comments by stating, “Yes, I am open to doing single shows.”

Nonetheless, she still had Hart in mind and chose to recommend her as a potential replacement.

“We received numerous applications from talented vocalists worldwide,” Gossow mentioned. “I put Lauren forward to the guys. Michael connected with her. She recorded vocals in December 2025. She rose like a Phoenix to the sky. So intense. So glorious.”

Gossow described Hart as “Angela reincarnate. Exceeding my skills. Ready to last for decades. I am honored and humbled to be working with her. Finally.”

The Arch Enemy manager also concluded by wishing Alissa White-Gluz all the best. “She is going to excel with her solo album! She has wanted to do this since 2016. She has some incredible female talent by her side and will undoubtedly leave her mark in the world of metal.”
