Angela Yee Shares Brother’s Sudden Passing
During a heartfelt conversation on her ‘Way Up’ radio show, Yee revealed that her older brother passed away suddenly at 51 years old due to an aneurysm. According to Yee, her mother discovered him in his home after becoming concerned when he stopped responding to messages—something she said was completely out of character for him.
Yee explained that, in the days leading up to his death, her brother had complained of severe headaches, which he tried to manage with pain medication. What seemed like routine discomfort turned out to be a critical medical emergency, prompting Yee to stress the importance of listening to your body and seeking medical care when something feels off.
“When you feel pain like that, and it feels out of the ordinary, it is important to see a doctor – You never know what could happen,” she shared. Angela added, “It’s also not something I would’ve thought either. I’ve had headaches before, and I don’t get them a lot. I probably would’ve did what he did.”
Angela Yee Shares A Warning With Listeners
In the aftermath, Yee said the tragedy forced her to think more urgently about life planning. She opened up about having to make difficult decisions for her brother without knowing his wishes, including arrangements they had never discussed. The experience has since pushed her to encourage others to prepare ahead of time—having conversations about wills, power of attorney, and end-of-life choices—because loss can come without warning.
Yee also shared moments of remembrance, asking loved ones to send photos of her brother for his funeral and posting a childhood throwback on Instagram. She described him as “generous,” “smart,” and deeply loved, adding that the outpouring of support has meant everything during an unimaginable time.
