Change is rampant in the air at Vogue Japan. Back in September, it was announced that Tiffany Godoy was to step down as head of editorial content. Throughout 2025, names like Lulu Tenney, Amelia Gray, Kiko Mizuhara, Anna Sawai, Alex Consani, Lila Moss, and Rina Sawayama graced the Japanese fashion title – while Chloe Oh caught our attention (for all the wrong reasons) on the January 2026 cover. Next up on the cover of Vogue Japan is Ariana Grande, who graces the March 2026 issue of the magazine. The celebrated American singer-songwriter and actress is profiled by the photographer Michael Bailey Gates for the occasion, complete with Law Roach on styling duties. In the chic, poised, and sophisticated cover image, Grande wears Balenciaga, a headpiece from London-based milliner Rachel Trevor-Morgan, and a tiara from Swarovski.
Ariana Grande for Vogue Japan March 2026

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“The styling is so pathetic. The WORST. Amateur hour all around,” declared Kite upon checking out the cover.
“I have never gotten her appeal. Ariana Grande is not photogenic, with that starved, dead in the eyes expression she has in every photo. All of that and the styling is ridiculous,” echoed mepps.
Also underwhelmed was Ihhbl: “These clothes look like they came straight from 2012!”
“Yeah… NO!” simply shared forum member BalkaniStaCouture.
“OMG, this is so terrible. Way worse than I imagined. Honestly, does anyone think Ariana has a redemption era in the future? Cause I personally don’t,” KateIsGr8 voiced.
“The Audrey Hepburn cosplay is becoming creepy,” noted vogueparis.
