While the natural assumption might be that Atreyu has disbanded due to their blackout and “R.I.P.” message, there are indications that the group remains active.

The band’s official website has not followed the blackout trend, and there have been no cancellations of their full fall tour schedule.

The group is set to start a U.K. tour on Sept. 27 with Eighteen Visions and Zero 9:36. These shows celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album The Curse. The European leg will follow on Oct. 6 with Zero 9:36 supporting, keeping the band on tour until Oct. 20.

Atreyu is then expected to return to North America for a tour leg starting Nov. 4 in Mesa, Ariz., with Unearth, Norma Jean, Eighteen Visions, He Is Legend, and Zero 9:36 supporting. All ticketing information can be found on the group’s website.

What Else Are Fans Speculating?

While some speculate that the messaging indicates a split, others on Instagram, Facebook, and X believe it acknowledges the death of right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk earlier in the week.

There is also a possibility that the blackout is teasing something new on the horizon. It has become common for artists to blackout their socials before launching a new promotional campaign.

With a tour approaching, this could signal the start of something new, perhaps even a new song. Atreyu has released nine studio albums, with the latest being The Beautiful Dark of Life in 2023. Therefore, new music could be forthcoming.
