On Tuesday, a shocking incident unfolded in Los Angeles involving Jillian Lauren, the spouse of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner. The police shot her during a pursuit of suspects linked to a hit-and-run case, and she was subsequently booked for attempted murder. This situation arose when the California Highway Patrol requested assistance to track down three suspects who had fled into a residential area near Eagle Rock in Los Angeles.

According to an official statement from the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred in the afternoon as officers began searching for the suspects. They spotted one individual fleeing towards the back of a residence located in the 5300 block of Waldo Place. Upon entering the backyard, officers encountered Lauren in the adjacent yard, visibly armed with a handgun.

Despite multiple commands from the officers to drop her weapon, Lauren refused to comply. When she aimed her firearm at them, officers discharged their weapons, hitting her in the shoulder, as reported by TMZ. Following the shooting, Lauren retreated into her home but later exited with her family’s babysitter. She was taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital, where she received treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Ultimately, she was booked for attempted murder, and a 9-millimeter handgun was discovered at her residence. Authorities confirmed that Lauren was not connected to the hit-and-run.

Authorities continue to search for two suspects who remain at large following the incident.
