DC’s Absolute Batman reveals a Super Saiyan transformation that enhances his muscular physique even further. Among all Absolute Universe redesigns, Batman’s musclebound look is arguably the most surprising. This iteration of the Dark Knight is transformed from a millionaire with a peak-human physique into a living tank equipped with a formidable arsenal.
However, Absolute Batman remains a regular human in his universe, unlike the increasingly monstrous villains emerging from Ark M. To overcome these threats, Absolute Batman must push the limits of his exceptionally strong body, often relying on allies like Alfred Pennyworth to secure victory.
Things would be significantly easier for Absolute Batman if he could unlock a massive power-up, akin to the Dragon Ball Saiyans.
Absolute Batman Goes Super Saiyan In Official DC Art
Absolute Batman #19 variant cover by Mario ‘Fox’ Foccillo
Absolute Batman #19 is set to continue exploring Martha Wayne’s connections to the Court of Owls and delve into the aftermath of Batman’s triumph over Absolute Poison Ivy. Most notably, Absolute Batman #19 will introduce Absolute Scarecrow, as indicated by the issue’s main and variant covers. One of the variant covers featuring Batman adopts a lighter tone with a non-canon, Super Saiyan-inspired design by Mario “Fox” Foccillo.
Foccillo’s design showcases Super Saiyan Batman charging up his ki, surrounded by a golden aura and black-and-red electricity. Instead of growing hair, the spikes on Absolute Batman’s cowl increase in size and number. His muscles also expand dramatically, resembling Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Second Grade and Future Trunks’ Super Saiyan Third Grade from Dragon Ball Z‘s Cell Saga. At seven feet tall, this immensely muscular Super Saiyan Absolute Batman appears capable of defeating Absolute Bane in mere seconds.

Batman’s First New Robin In 17 Years Won’t Be Who You Think
Absolute Batman is about to gain his first Robin, though it is unlikely to be one of the typical Boy Wonders (there’s solid evidence supporting this).
DC’s canon Absolute Batman already resembles a Super Saiyan version of the Dark Knight. He is significantly stronger than most Batmen across the multiverse, exhibiting greater agility and brutality. Batman’s battles against Ark M are reminiscent of the Z Warriors’ ongoing confrontations with the Red Ribbon’s creations. However, Absolute Superman is even more akin to Dragon Ball‘s Goku, as he possesses a similar power set and uncovers his full origins as a young adult.
How Likely Is A Collaboration Between DC & Dragon Ball
A Dragon Ball & DC Crossover Is Possible, But Unlikely
A formal crossover between DC Comics and Dragon Ball feels like the Holy Grail of pop-culture collaborations, but the divide between these two universes remains significant. Generally, legendary anime properties such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and Saint Seiya do not frequently cross over with Western media. Additionally, Shueisha has been protective of the Dragon Ball license, and Capsule Corporation Tokyo does not appear eager to engage in crossovers.
Considering that the Dragon Ball franchise is undergoing a revival with titles like Daima, the return of the Super series, and video games such as Age 1000 and Sparking Zero!, brand synergy may become too appealing to overlook. The potential for a comic book collaboration is strengthened by DC’s recent efforts toward unconventional crossovers. Projects like Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong and DC K.O. fully embrace guest fighters from various franchises.
The talented artist Dan Mora seems motivated to facilitate a genuine DC and Dragon Ball crossover. Mora has openly expressed his admiration for Dragon Ball, as evidenced by his references to Akira Toriyama’s work in various projects. This includes nods in Superman#28 featuring an anime poster and fan artwork depicting Superman & Goku together. His work in DC K.O.: Knightfight#4 also includes parodies of Goku and Vegeta.

Absolute Batman#19 will be available from DC Comics on April 15.
