Which band is superior from the nu-metal era – Limp Bizkit or Korn? This is the central question in this week’s Chuck’s Fight Club battle on the Loudwire Nights radio show. This week’s contest features two members of nu-metal’s “Big 4,” but the final decision rests with you.
On one side, we have Limp Bizkit, a band that epitomizes the nu-metal era at its peak. Limp Bizkit achieved immense popularity in the late ’90s and early 2000s with hits like “Nookie,” “Re-Arranged,” “Break Stuff,” “Rollin’,” “Take a Look Around,” and “My Way.” They became synonymous with nu-metal on MTV during this time.
However, would Limp Bizkit have reached such heights without Korn paving the way in the mid-’90s? Korn’s self-titled debut album from 1995 is often credited with launching the nu-metal era, bringing the genre into mainstream consciousness with tracks like “Blind,” “A.D.I.D.A.S.,” “Got the Life,” “Freak on a Leash,” “Falling Away From Me,” “Make Me Bad,” “Here To Stay,” and “Twisted Transistor.” Korn are pioneers who have adapted over time to remain one of the most enduring and prolific bands.
As with all Chuck’s Fight Club battles, Loudwire Nights host Chuck Armstrong will introduce the matchup on Monday’s show during the 8PM hour. Arguments for both bands will be presented on Tuesday and Wednesday’s shows while you continue to rank their catalogs using the voting tool below. On Friday afternoon, we will tally the results, and the winning band will be featured in a rock block during the 8PM hour of Friday’s Loudwire Nights show.
