About ten minutes into the discussion, he reflected on his intriguing ties to the music world and recounted his first encounter with Kelis.
“I got great press that I was dating her, which really raised my cred a lot,” Murray humorously remarked, before clarifying that the reports were “false.”
During the engaging conversation, Murray reminisced about the first time he saw the iconic music video for ‘Got Your Money’ by Ol’ Dirty Bastard. He recalled that this was his initial introduction to Kelis.
“That song just kills me. I love that video. And I kept going, ‘That’s the silliest thing. How did I miss that when it came out in the first place? It’s so crazy.’ And I’m going, ‘Who is that girl with the red hair?’ and it was Kelis,” he expressed. “I just had to meet her sometime. [But] she turns out to be spectacular.”
Ultimately, Bill Murray firmly denied any romantic involvement with Kelis, yet he playfully hinted at the possibility of “rebounding” with the singer.
