The iconic Go-Go’s made a stunning comeback to the stage this week with an electrifying performance on Friday at Coachella. This highly anticipated event featured a special appearance from Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day, adding an extra layer of excitement to the show.
Armstrong joined the legendary new wave band during their hit song “Head Over Heels,” which famously peaked at No. 11 on the charts from their critically acclaimed third album, Talk Show. This energetic performance came towards the middle of their impressive 13-song set, heavily showcasing tracks from their multiplatinum debut album, Beauty and the Beat, released in 1981.
In addition to “Head Over Heels,” the set list included other classic hits such as “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” and “We Got the Beat,” with the latter featuring a lively interpolation of Chappell Roan’s “HOT TO GO!” These choices highlighted the band’s enduring appeal and their significant contributions to the music industry.
Fans can catch a glimpse of Armstrong’s performance alongside the band and view the full set list detailed below.

The Go-Go’s Honor Clem Burke in a Heartfelt Tribute at the Roxy
In preparation for their Coachella performance, the Go-Go’s kicked off the week with a warm-up concert at the renowned Roxy in West Hollywood. Attendees can check out photos from this memorable Roxy gig along with the set list shared below.
These concerts marked the Go-Go’s first live performances since 2022 when they embarked on a brief tour following their celebrated induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in late 2021. Notably, this week also marked the return of drummer Gina Schock, who had to miss the 2022 tour due to thumb surgery. During that tour, the talented Blondie drummer Clem Burke filled in, tragically passing away earlier this week.
During the Roxy performance, the band members paid a touching tribute to Burke. Lead singer Belinda Carlisle expressed her sentiments to the audience (via Variety), stating, “I really missed Gina, [but] I loved Clem. He was such a joy to perform with, and I can’t put into words how much he meant to us. I hope you’re listening, Clem. But I did miss Gina!”
Bassist Kathy Valentine added a heartfelt note, saying Burke “was an integral part of our Go-Go family, and while we will miss him dearly, his music will continue to resonate through time.” Schock also shared her deep admiration and affection for the late drummer, calling him “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known — a true gentleman at all times. I was incredibly fortunate that during my recovery, Clem stepped in with the band for me. That’s the kind of person he was. Tonight, I dedicate this entire performance to Clem Burke and his lasting legacy. God bless you, Clem. You truly are an angel.”
