The original film, brought to life by the brilliant minds at Jason Blum?s renowned Blumhouse Productions, made quite an impact when it hit theaters in 2022, amassing an impressive $161.4 million at the global box office. The gripping story follows a timid yet resourceful 13-year-old boy named Finney Shaw, who finds himself in a harrowing situation when he is kidnapped by a ruthless serial killer and confined in a soundproof basement, where his screams go unheard. However, when an old phone on the wall mysteriously starts to ring, Finney discovers he can hear the voices of the killer?s previous victims, who are determined to help him avoid the same fate.

As of October 2023, it was confirmed that fans can expect this highly anticipated horror sequel to hit theaters in June 2025, although the release date has since been rescheduled for October 2025. This delay has only heightened the suspense and excitement surrounding the project.

The talented Scott Derrickson, who co-wrote and directed the first installment, is returning to craft the sequel’s script alongside his collaborator C. Robert Cargill. Both Derrickson and Cargill will also take on production roles, ensuring that the film maintains its high-quality storytelling and chilling atmosphere, with Jason Blum also involved in the production.
