Blake Lively Challenges Justin Baldoni’s Dismissal of Her Claims

Blake Lively Pushes Back Against Justin Baldoni's Efforts to Dismiss Her Claims as Trial Nears

There has been a new development in the ongoing legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni stemming from their time creating the film It Ends With Us.

In the latest update, Blake‘s lawyers have penned a letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York asking them not to dismiss the case as it moves toward a jury trial, per People.

In the letter filed on Thursday (March 12), her attorneys said that dismissing a complaint at this stage “would hardly serve the efficient or just resolution of disputes.”

Justin‘s team wants the judge to throw out her claims through their most recent legal efforts to have the case dismissed, asking for a summary judgment that would decide the case based on evidence that has already been gathered rather than through a trial.

But Blake‘s legal team argued that the case should be evaluated “using the full record of evidence developed during the lawsuit,” and they refer to a recent ruling made by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that said courts shouldn’t dismiss cases based only on the wording of a complaint if evidence has been gathered.

Both Blake and Justin are expected to testify at the May 18 trial.

Earlier this month, the Gossip Girl alum was spotted at a Wrexham vs Chelsea game with her husband Ryan Reynolds and his close friend Rob Mac (formerly McElhenney).
