Two of the most exciting emerging artists of 2024 have collaborated to release a captivating new spring single that is bound to resonate with audiences.
Five-time Grammy nominee Shaboozey has teamed up with Brit Award-winning artist Myles Smith to present “Blink Twice,” an infectious track that blends folk influences with vibrant, twangy finger-picked guitars, driving drums, and lively stomps and claps. The duo sings together in the catchy chorus, “Oh me, oh my, would you look in my eyes/ We’ll laugh or cry just to feel alive/ Oh-woah-woah, no time for living a lie/ Oh-woah-woah, time flies, so don’t blink twice.” The release is accompanied by a poignant, tear-jerking music video that adds emotional depth to the song.
“Blink Twice” is significant as it represents Shaboozey’s first musical release following an extraordinarily successful year. Not only did he feature prominently on Beyoncé’s three-time Grammy-winning LP, Cowboy Carter, but he also achieved remarkable success with his record-breaking single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which holds the title for the longest-running solo Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single, remaining at the top for an impressive 17 weeks. Currently, “A Bar Song” continues to dominate the charts, sitting at No. 4 on the Hot 100 as of April 12, while his previous release, “Good News,” is at No. 51 after peaking at No. 47.
Myles Smith, who recently earned the Brit Rising Star Award on March 1, has also made waves on the Hot 100 charts with his hit “Stargazing,” which reached an impressive No. 19 and even spent a week at the top of the Pop Airplay chart. Earlier this year, on February 14, he collaborated with Grammy-winning country sensation Lainey Wilson to create a new version of “Nice to Meet You,” which successfully climbed to No. 13 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
This April, Shaboozey is set to perform at both Coachella (April 11-13, April 18-20) and Stagecoach (April 25-27), further solidifying his reputation as one of the most influential crossover artists in the modern music scene.
