Blue Bloods Actor Alex Duong Passes Away at 42 After Cancer

Alex Duong is being remembered after his untimely passing.

The comedian—whose acting credits include Blue Bloods, The Young and the Restless, and Everybody Hates Chris—died on March 28 after a yearlong battle with a rare form of cancer, his friend Hilarie Steele confirmed in a post on GoFundMe. He was 42.

“With the heaviest hearts, we share that our dear Alex passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by love and dear friends,” Steele wrote in the post on the crowdfunding website. “He was comfortable and thankfully out of pain.”

Steele also shared that despite the progression of Duong’s illness, he was able to say goodbye to his 5-year-old daughter Everest—whom he shared with wife Christina—prior to his death, noting that he “treasured” his little girl “every moment since the day she was born.”

“We are devastated,” the message continued, “but so grateful for the support, prayers, and generosity you have all shown during this unimaginable time.”
