“Reaching a level of true artistic expression often comes after the release of your fourth full-length album, where you can finally showcase your authentic self.”
On Wednesday, May 7, Tarek Jafar, the talented frontman of The Blue Stones, made an appearance on Loudwire Nights to commemorate the launch of their latest album, Metro. Be sure to catch the full interview by listening to the player located at the end of this article.

“Our essence is deeply embedded in this album,” Jafar shared with host Chuck Armstrong.
“We are thrilled with how Metro surpasses the previous three albums we’ve released, and the positive reception has been incredibly rewarding.”
Jafar reflected on the distinctive viewpoint that comes after releasing four albums as The Blue Stones, expressing that they feel they have finally arrived at their true artistic selves.
“At this point, you’re no longer a fledgling band; you’ve experienced the music scene,” he explained.
“You’ve gone on tours, released multiple albums, and learned a great deal about the music industry. It’s a liberating feeling. There’s a certain tranquility that accompanies the release of a fourth album; you feel more confident, thinking, ‘I finally know what I’m doing now.'”

He expressed his desire that this sense of accomplishment is not only felt by him and his bandmate, Justin Tessier, but also resonates with both their loyal fans and newcomers alike.
“For anyone who is just exploring who we are, I believe Metro represents the most authentic version of ourselves as musicians,” Jafar stated.
“I genuinely think this is the perfect starting point for new listeners.”
Insights from Tarek Jafar on Loudwire Nights
- Understanding the Concept Behind Metro: “The album narrates the story of a character who embarks on a long, transformative subway journey set in a dystopian future. Each track symbolizes a stop in their journey, portraying a narrative of self-transformation, where the individual evolves from someone who has been worn down by societal pressures to someone who ultimately embraces their reality.”
- Reflecting on The Blue Stones’ Early Work: “Listening to our earlier albums feels like hearing a younger version of myself; it’s a reflection of my growth as a songwriter and artist. It’s amusing, almost like listening to a little brother, yet it’s still me.”
- The Dynamics of Being a Duo: “It’s been advantageous that it’s always been just the two of us from the beginning, as it simplifies decision-making. We only need to check in with each other: Am I on board with this? Are you? Yes, we both agree. This streamlined process has made everything much more manageable.”
