Temuera Morrison has been an integral part of the Star Wars franchise for more than two decades, famously portraying iconic characters such as Jango Fett, the Clone Troopers, and Boba Fett. However, his passion for the franchise remains strong, and he is not ready to step away just yet. During an engaging session at the Tampa Bay Comic Convention (as reported by Collider), Morrison passionately encouraged fans to reach out to Lucasfilm to advocate for his return in future projects, emphasizing the importance of their voices in this endeavor.
When asked if he had any upcoming Star Wars projects lined up, Morrison replied, “No,” indicating that he is currently not engaged in any new roles. He continued, “We really have to treasure those moments now. All of you need to send a fax, or a letter or an email to those powers that be at Lucasfilm. I’m sure they’d love to hear from everyone. Please give Daniel Logan and Temuera Morrison another chance and put them somewhere.” His heartfelt appeal reflects a deep commitment to the beloved universe that has shaped his career.
Daniel Logan, known for portraying young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones and voicing the character in The Clone Wars, humorously joined the conversation to poke fun at Morrison, referring to him as the “greediest person” in the franchise due to his extensive involvement.
Logan shared, “The crazy part with Star Wars is that you don’t know about filming anything until like, a week, or maybe two, or even less than that, right?” He added, “But the thing is, Temuera is the greediest person in Star Wars. He’s played so many characters, he’s got the most characters in ‘Star Wars,’ if you go down the line — from Jango, Boba, all of the Clones, Rex, Cody, Fives — he’s got the most characters in Star Wars. There’s going to be plenty of opportunities. Especially for this guy, especially with this era of Star Wars, like Ahsoka, and all this stuff set after Return of the Jedi.” This playful banter highlights the unique bond these actors share within the expansive universe of Star Wars.
Given the immense popularity of Boba Fett, it is difficult to envision Lucasfilm not resurrecting the character in some capacity. As of now, Morrison’s latest appearance in the franchise was as Captain Rex in an episode of Ahsoka.
Currently, Morrison is sharing the screen once again with Jason Momoa—the duo previously portrayed father and son in Aquaman—in the new historical drama series on Apple TV+, titled Chief of War. This compelling series centers around Ka’iana (played by Momoa), a warrior dedicated to uniting the Hawaiian Islands prior to the onset of Western colonization in the late 18th century.
