Bobby Cannavale Skipping Golden Globes for Unexpected Reason

Rose Byrne will not have her husband by her side at the 2026 Golden Globes.

The 46-year-old actress, who is nominated for Best Actress for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, will be joined by her brother instead of hubby Bobby Cannavale.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rose revealed the totally random reason that Bobby is skipping the awards show.

“He can’t come, which is such a bummer,” Rose said. “He’s going to a reptile expo in New Jersey. We’re getting a bearded dragon. This expo is the place to go.”

“I think they’re gorgeous. I think they eat live crickets. I had a friend who had one and she said that crickets do escape sometimes,” she added.

The new pet will be for Rose and Bobby‘s kids Rocco, 9, and Rafael, 8. She joked it would be a “parent fail” if they didn’t get the dragon.

About her Globes date, Rose said, “I’m taking my brother George [Byrne], who’s wonderful. He’s very handsome. He looks a bit like Robert Pattinson meets Jacob Elordi, so he always gets a lot of attention. But yeah, he’s going to come and support. It should be fun.”

Bobby also has a movie that is getting awards buzz this year.
