Bosch Replacement on Prime Video Features Hateful Eight Star

Amazon has a few flagship properties that the streamer relies on for the lion’s share of its viewership, but perhaps none have as large of an audience as Bosch. Titus Welliver first played the LAPD detective in the Prime Video original series that ran for seven seasons between 2014 and 2021. The show came to a head five years ago, but Welliver was brought back only one year later for Bosch: Legacy, which many fans hoped would be on the air for years. However, the show was canceled by Prime Video after only three seasons. Fans, stars, and creatives all expressed their frustration with this decision.

After the success of Bosch and Bosch: Legacy, Amazon is always on the lookout for new cop shows to help fill the gap it left behind. It’s already aired a Bosch spin-off focused on Maggie Q‘s Ballard, and a new prequel show starring Cameron Monaghan as Harry Bosch is in the works as well. Amazon has found its next Bosch replacement in a new series titled Bishop, which will star John Malkovich and Joel Kinnaman. It follows a police officer, Bishop, and his hunt for an elusive killer in San Francisco who is targeting the upper class. The more he kills, the more the lower class begins to adore him, and Bishop becomes convinced that the killer is tied to his father.

While additional details about the series are being kept under wraps, it’s been confirmed that Kinnaman will star as Bishop Graves and Malkovich will play his father, Lincoln Graves. News broke this afternoon that Jennifer Jason Leigh has joined the cast of Bishop — she will play Jillian, Lincoln’s sister and Bishop’s aunt. The show was written and created for TV by Little Marvin and Tony Saltzman.

What Is Jennifer Jason Leigh Known For?

Jennifer Jason Leigh is best known for her Oscar-nominated performance in The Hateful Eight, the critically acclaimed Western directed by Quentin Tarantino. She also played Lorraine Lyon in the fifth and final season of Noah Hawley’s Fargo, and she can more recently be seen in Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo’s new heist thriller, Crime 101. Her next role with Joel Kinnaman and John Malkovich in Bishop has the potential to be one of her biggest, as viewers are always on the hunt for the next Bosch-esque hit.
