Brittany Cartwright is taking the initiative to clarify her perspective regarding her relationship with her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, especially in light of the challenges that come with co-parenting. Brittany emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy relationship for the sake of their son while navigating the complexities of their separation.
These revelations come after Jax made controversial statements in November 2024 during an interview on Bravo’s Scorching Mic podcast and again on the season 2 premiere of The Valley. In response to these allegations, Brittany has decided to voice her side of the story.

“My main goal was to reach a point where we could be friends because we have a son together. I tried to make that happen,” Brittany explained. “I certainly had a few weak moments, but that hasn’t happened in quite a long time. That was in the very beginning of our separation.”
The couple shares a four-year-old son named Cruz, which adds another layer of complexity to their co-parenting journey.
“I would never do that now,” Brittany continued, firmly establishing her boundaries. “Are you kidding me? No. And he did it to me many, many times, trying to get me to hook up with him.”
Brittany elaborated that after watching Jax on Scorching Mic, she counted 31 instances where he lied about their relationship and his behavior, illustrating the depth of their communication issues.

The dedicated mother emphasized that after their separation, Jax did attempt to rekindle their relationship. However, Brittany recognized that reconciliation was impossible once she moved out of their home, marking a definitive turning point in their relationship.
“It was really hard for me because I still loved him very much. This is the only reason I had weak moments here and there,” she admitted, revealing the emotional challenges she faced during their split.
“Jax is a love-bomber; he knows how to say the right things and manipulate situations to make me think he will change,” Brittany shared, explaining how difficult it is to let go of hope when love is involved. “It’s hard when you love someone not to hope that could actually be the truth.”
“I always knew we weren’t going to be able to get back together from the moment I moved out. I’m not backtracking like that ever again,” Brittany asserted, emphasizing her commitment to moving forward.

During the After Show, Jax expressed his frustration upon discovering Brittany’s previous romantic involvement with his friend, Julian Sensley, highlighting the emotional turmoil it caused him.
“I saw texts to Julian while I was on vacation, so that’s what triggered my reaction. I wish I could take that back, but show me a man who wouldn’t go crazy if his wife is texting his friend sexual things, including pictures of our child. Show me a guy who wouldn’t react fiercely,” Jax reflected on his emotional response during the After Show.
“At that time, I’m not blaming anyone, but I was on a lot of things — I was drinking, I was on drugs, I was spiraling out of control,” Jax, who has recently opened up about his struggle with cocaine addiction, admitted, acknowledging his own challenges during their tumultuous relationship.
The scene shifted to Brittany defending herself, making it clear that her communications with Julian only occurred during their separation, reminding the audience of the emotional struggles she faced throughout their marriage.
“Imagine having to read the nasty, disgusting messages from multiple women that get sent to my DMs — there’s no comparison between him and I,” Brittany expressed, highlighting the double standards in their relationship.
Regarding Julian, Brittany stated, “He did make me feel good, and it was like I needed that. I had lost all my confidence. I did enjoy my time with him.” However, she also noted that their relationship ended after he “lied to me about so much,” including the fact that he was allegedly “living with his baby mama.”
Fun fact: During the discussion, Lala revealed that she too once dated Julian, labeling him a “hanger-on.” Meanwhile, Jax expressed that he now wants “nothing to do with that man,” further complicating the dynamics surrounding Brittany’s past relationships.
