During an electrifying performance in San Sebastian, Spain, on June 24, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band treated fans to the much-anticipated tour debut of “Prove It All Night.” However, Mother Nature had other plans, as rain interrupted the concert while they were playing “House of a Thousand Guitars.” The band paused for 35 minutes, eagerly waiting for the weather to improve. Once the skies cleared, Springsteen and his talented ensemble launched into an exhilarating series of four songs that had not been performed prior on this tour. This setlist included classics like “Growin’ Up” from the 1973 album Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ, and several hits from the iconic 1984 album Born in the U.S.A., including “Darlington County,” “Working on the Highway,” and “I’m on Fire.” Additionally, “Prove It All Night” originally graced the 1978 album Darkness on the Edge of Town.

The concert at Reale Arena was already unique due to the absence of E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt. As the band arrived in San Sebastian, Van Zandt revealed he had been experiencing a “sharp pain in my stomach.” Initially fearing it was food poisoning, he later learned it was appendicitis, necessitating emergency surgery. He assured fans that he expected to make a swift return, likely within a week.

The evening’s performance concluded with a stirring rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom,” following the release of a live version on the Land of Hope and Dreams EP earlier during this tour. The E Street Band also delivered a high-energy cover of “Twist and Shout,” leaving the audience exhilarated.
Upcoming tour dates will continue on Friday, June 27, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, wrapping up with two shows in Milan, Italy, on June 30 and July 3. Van Zandt expressed gratitude for receiving care from an exceptional hospital in San Sebastian, stating that his operation was a total success and he hopes to return to the stage for at least one of the upcoming shows in Milan.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Tracks II: The Lost Albums, which features previously unheard Springsteen material dating back to the early 1980s, set to debut this Friday. Excitingly, plans for Tracks III are already in progress.
