In a recent episode of her popular podcast, Dumb Blonde, the 45-year-old host, known as Alyssa DeFord, opened up about her absence from public appearances with her husband, the 40-year-old country music star. This candid discussion provides insight into the personal struggles they have faced together.
“Someone mentioned recently that it seems like we used to be inseparable, and now we’re hardly ever seen together,” Bunnie shared, referring to the perception surrounding her relationship with the “Save Me” singer, according to People. “What they don’t realize is that for the past six months, I’ve been focused on trying to conceive. My husband has to be out there working hard to provide for us.”
She elaborated, saying, “Fortunately, I have the privilege of working from home, which allows me to manage my time better. However, my husband has commitments that require him to be present. Meanwhile, I have been undergoing IVF medication for six months, dealing with emotional turmoil and numerous challenges along the way.”
Despite the hurdles, Bunnie made a rare public appearance at SummerSlam 2025 in early August, where she showed her support for Jelly Roll during his exciting WWE in-ring debut against Logan Paul, symbolizing resilience and unity in their relationship.
As a devoted stepmom to Jelly’s children—16-year-old daughter Bailee Ann and 7-year-old son Noah Buddy—Bunnie has been transparent with her fans about her IVF experiences. She frequently shares updates through her podcast and social media platforms. In late July, she posted an emotional TikTok reflecting on her journey during the first half of 2025, which resonated with many.
“I’ve had to miss a lot of enjoyable events, and my body has endured so much. Honestly, I feel mentally and physically drained,” she expressed alongside a touching photo of herself snuggling with her pet cow. “However, I sense a shift in energy. I’m beginning to emerge from this challenging period and learning to trust that God’s timing is always perfect.”
Earlier this summer, Bunnie shared a significant update regarding their IVF process, highlighting the emotional rollercoaster they have experienced throughout this journey.
“When you finally receive the call you have been anxiously waiting for over five months since starting this IVF journey,” she recounted in an emotional Instagram post. “All the tears, feelings of hopelessness, and struggles have led to this moment where God finally said, ‘Here you go.’”
She later clarified in the comments section, “This is not a pregnancy announcement – we will not announce that,” she emphasized. “This is simply a monumental win for us in our journey.”
