Carl Dean’s Will Revealed: Insights on Dolly Parton’s Husband

More insight into Dolly Parton and her late husband Carl Dean‘s private life together has come to light.

Dean, who died in March at 82, left behind a will signed back in 2013 that named his wife of 58 years the sole beneficiary of the Carl Thomas Dean Trust that made up his estate, according to a filing by Parton obtained by Us Weekly on Oct. 9.

Parton will inherit, per the filing, all of her late husband’s rights, title, and interest in any personal effects relating to her music and entertainment career, including pictures, costumes, jewelry, musical instruments and equipment, as well as all interest in furniture, art, automobiles and other items.

Dean, according to Us‘ documents, also stated that alongside the will, he would leave a handwritten note that detailed who would receive his personal and household property. However, if this list was not found, the “9 to 5” singer—who has asked the court to be named the executor of the estate—would be made responsible for distributing the items.
