The cause of death for the legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne has been officially disclosed.
The iconic frontman of Black Sabbath and renowned solo artist, famously recognized as the Prince of Darkness, passed away from a heart attack on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, as documented in a death certificate submitted in London (as reported by The New York Times).
This certificate, filed by Osbourne’s daughter, Aimee Osbourne, indicated that the primary causes of death included cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease. It further noted that Osbourne had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a condition he publicly disclosed in 2020.

Specifically, the death certificate outlined the causes of death as “(a) Out of hospital cardiac arrest (b) Acute myocardial infarction (c) Coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction (Joint Causes).”

Ozzy Osbourne passed away less than three weeks after delivering his final live performance at the Back to the Beginning concert, which took place at Villa Park in his hometown of Birmingham, England.

Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest during a private ceremony on July 30, following a funeral procession that journeyed through Birmingham and made a poignant stop at the Black Sabbath bench. The procession was accompanied by the Birmingham-based brass band Bostin Brass, who performed renditions of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” and Osbourne’s iconic solo hit “Crazy Train.”
