The films follow two police officers and best friends, Jenko (Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill). In each film, Captain Dickson (Ice Cube) assigns them an undercover mission to investigate and dismantle a drug ring within an educational institution. In the first film, Schmidt and Jenko go undercover as high school students to halt the distribution of a drug called HFS. The sequel sees the duo infiltrate a college to prevent the sale of a drug known as WHY-PHY.
