Connie Boss Alexander and Dr? Rose Share Insights on tWitch’s Legacy and Holker’s Memoir
Stephen ?tWitch? Boss? family is voicing their opinions regarding Allison Holker?s recent memoir following its highly publicized release. They express concern about the way in which personal matters have been portrayed, especially in light of their tragic loss.
In a revealing preview of an interview with Gayle King for CBS Mornings, Boss? mother, Connie Boss Alexander, and brother, Dr? Rose, discussed Holker?s new book, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light. They criticized her promotional strategies, labeling them as a ?marketing campaign? that seems to exploit their family’s grief.
This interview, which is set to be aired in full on February 11, represents Alexander and Rose?s first television appearance since the tragic passing of Boss. The Ellen DeGeneres Show co-executive producer and talented dancer, who was a beloved DJ, died by suicide at the young age of 40 in December 2022, leaving behind a legacy that his family is eager to protect.

?I believe people deserve the opportunity to share their stories, and I completely understand that,? Rose expressed to King. ?But the manner in which it was presented, along with the magazine cover and the public launch or marketing campaign surrounding it, makes it feel like we should not have to learn about our family?s matters through the media.?
As CBS Mornings highlighted, Rose was referencing Holker?s cover story with PEOPLE magazine, where she claimed to have discovered a ?cornucopia? of Boss? drug paraphernalia while ?selecting an outfit? for his funeral. The morning show further mentioned that the relationship between Alexander, Rose, and Holker has become ?strained? following her book’s promotional efforts.
In addition to promoting This Far, Holker shared insights about her late husband?s journals, which she examined after his passing. She revealed that Boss had concealed painful secrets from even those closest to him, adding another layer of complexity to the narrative she is presenting.
When King inquired whether they would be interested in reading the late dancer?s journals if given the chance, both Alexander and Rose expressed a strong interest. They indicated a desire to connect with their loved one?s thoughts more deeply.
?I definitely would like to read them, just to feel closer to him, because those are his thoughts and perhaps gain a clearer understanding,? Alexander explained. ?You know, he is my son. [They reveal] who he was and what he was thinking at various moments. So yes, I believe I would.?
?I would love to see all the journals in their entirety,? Rose added. ?I believe these journals will provide significant insights. There are aspects of these journals that are both positive and negative, but I also believe there are entries concerning his personal life, particularly his marital life, which are included.?
?I feel, and I truly believe, that there has been a cherry-picking of entries from the journals to disclose or share,? he continued. ?And if we?re going to be completely honest, we should discuss everything.?

This backlash follows Alexander?s strong condemnation of Holker in a statement released after her PEOPLE cover story, where she expressed being ?completely appalled? by what she described as the ?untruths? circulating in the media.
?Our family is utterly appalled by the misleading and hurtful claims made about my son, Stephen Boss,? his mother shared in an Instagram post. ?The recent publications spreading falsehoods about Stephen have crossed every line of decency. As his mother, I refuse to let these accusations go unanswered. We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished. He does not deserve this, and neither do the children.?
?For the past two years, I have chosen to remain silent and out of the public eye to protect my family. My primary focus has been on healing and trying to stay connected with my grandchildren,? she continued. ?However, upon reading these dreadful claims about my beloved child, Stephen, I realized I could no longer stay silent.?
She concluded her statement with a powerful resolution: ?Our family will ensure that his name and memory are preserved, and we are committed to protecting his honor.?

Holker has also faced significant backlash from So You Think You Can Dance alumni. She took to her Instagram Story to defend herself against the criticisms from her late husband?s friends, family, and fans, seeking to clarify her intentions.
She reiterated that her ?only intention? in writing her book was ?to share my own story and a part of my life with Stephen to help other people navigate their own challenges.?
?Like you, I never truly understood what happened, and while I am trying to piece it together, I will never fully know,? she continued, emphasizing her goal to celebrate the love and life she shared with Stephen and their three beautiful children, while also addressing the more complex aspects of both their lives.
She also expressed her hope that her story might help others ?identify some red flags that I missed before it?s too late,? encouraging readers to reflect on their own experiences and relationships.
