Chicago Med constantly encounters unusual cases, but Halloween introduces a different kind of strangeness. The emergency department (ED) is filled with a spooky atmosphere, and everyone is on high alert in Chicago Med Season 11, Episode 5, “What’s Hiding in the Dark.” The episode, airing on Wednesday, October 29, continues the show’s Halloween-themed tradition, featuring eerie cases and costumes of choice. NBC has released a promo video for the episode, showcasing the mood in the ED during this time. However, this does not mean that drama takes a backseat as tensions between Asher (Jessy Schram) and Archer (Steven Weber) escalate, according to the official logline below.
A personal clash between Asher and Archer reaches a breaking point. Charles (Oliver Platt) and Ripley (Luke Mitchell) uncover a rare neurological disorder in a patient. Goodwin’s (S. Epatha Merkerson) personal life is put to the test.
“Trauma three is open,” Lenox (Sarah Ramos) states in the video below. This means that anyone treating a patient can use the room, which would typically be good news. However, when traveling nurse Kacy (Kim Quindlen) delivers troubling statistics, even the headstrong Dean Archer becomes concerned. “The last three patients we put in there, you know, died,” Kacy reveals. Meanwhile, Ripley and Charles are working on a patient’s case but struggle to determine what is wrong. To complicate matters further, the hospital loses power, leading to increased chaos.
The Asher, Archer, and Ripley Drama Heats Up in ‘Chicago Med’ Season 11, Episode 5
The show has revealed that Dean is the father of Asher’s baby, who has taken this news well and accepted his responsibilities. The two have reached an agreement on how to handle this situation without conflict until an unspecified trigger causes tensions to rise. Who is to blame? Will this significantly impact their relationship? Meanwhile, Ripley has become deeply involved with Sadie Smith (Holly Curran) and her daughter Emelia (May Lansing). This Halloween, they are dressed in coordinated costumes as Winnie-the-Pooh (Emelia), Piglet (Sadie), and Tigger (Ripley) while trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. Has Ripley genuinely moved on from Asher, or is he merely trying to project happiness?
Tune in to Chicago Med this Wednesday to watch “What’s Hiding in the Dark” and see how everything unfolds. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
