There have been widespread speculations suggesting that the Chiefs will kick off their season against their division rival, the Los Angeles Chargers, in São Paulo, Brazil. Travis has confirmed that the team is scheduled to travel to Brazil for the season opener on September 5, and his sentiments indicate he is not particularly thrilled about this decision.

The complete NFL schedule has not been released yet, and fans will have to wait until Wednesday night (May 14) for the official announcement of the 2025-2026 schedule. Nevertheless, Travis disclosed this information during his podcast after it had been circulating as a rumor for several days.
“This isn’t officially out until Wednesday… Yeah, we’re definitely playing in Brazil. I’ll be there, not to record a podcast. I’ll be out there playing football in the sweltering heat,” Travis stated on the “New Heights” podcast. “There’s just something about being close to the equator; I’m not keen on putting on a football uniform in that heat. I’ve experienced Jacksonville in September, and that was absolutely miserable,” he added.
“São Paulo, is that near the water? I’d prefer it to be dry rather than humid; I tend to sweat quite a bit. If it turns out to be humid, I’m going to feel quite uncomfortable. However, I’ll find a way to secure a win,” he elaborated.
Jason Kelce, Travis‘ brother, also voiced his concerns about the location, recalling the challenges the Eagles faced with the playing surface last year. Jason mentioned, “The field was absolutely atrocious last year. It was noticeably poor; players were slipping all over the place. It was a terrible field. Just a heads up, make sure to wear your seven studs.”
