“The music industry failed to protect me when I was a little girl,” Stacie said in a statement shared with People. “It has taken me years to become strong enough — but I am ready to fight for every young and innocent person who has been, and continues to be, abused in the music industry and in the Church.”
Stacie alleges the abuse began after she signed with ForeFront Records as a teenager, following her 1998 win at a Christian music festival. Ham allegedly assaulted her for the first time in 2000, when she was 14, during a work trip to Los Angeles. The filing claims the abuse continued for years, even as others raised concerns about the nature of their relationship.
The lawsuit alleges that despite warnings and red flags, industry executives prioritized reputations and profits over her safety. Stacie says she ended her relationship with Ham in 2004 when she turned 18.
She is seeking unspecified damages and a jury trial.
