Chyler Leigh Responds to Eric Dane’s Passing

Chyler Leigh Remembers Eric Dane After His “Devastating” Death

Chyler Leigh is reflecting on her experiences with Eric Dane.

The Grey’s Anatomy actress, who portrayed Eric’s love interest in the popular ABC series, shared her thoughts on working with the Euphoria star following his passing on February 19. He was 53 years old.

“The last 48 hours have been devastating,” Chyler stated in a message to E! News. “I never imagined I would be using the terms ‘had or was,’ but here we are. And I hate it.”

“Eric had a heart of gold,” she added. “His humor and, especially, his laugh were infectious. He was a deeply intelligent man who could engage in philosophical discussions for hours, even while we were on set. He was an incredible father and loved his daughters FIERCELY. He was incredibly passionate about his work and the causes he held dear.”

Despite the Burlesque actor—who had children Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, with estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart—passing away nearly a year after publicly announcing his ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) diagnosis, Chyler highlighted that his legacy will endure.

“The Universe is undoubtedly holding Eric now,” she concluded, “just as I will continue to do within my heart forever.”
