Colman Domingo Responds to Criticism Over Sabrina Carpenter Music Video Appearance

Colman Domingo is addressing criticism regarding his appearance in Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Tears” video.

The 55-year-old actor made an appearance in the singer’s new music video, released Friday (August 29). In the video, Colman was one of many drag performers who danced behind Sabrina.

Colman previously reacted to his surprise appearance in the video, sharing a post on X thanking Sabrina for the opportunity. Now, he’s responding to critics who were not pleased with the video.

A post shared on X labeled Colman‘s drag appearance in the video as “bulls–t.” Although he wasn’t tagged, the post caught Colman‘s attention and he responded to the criticism.

“It’s a character. Like all the characters I play. Calm down brother. Enjoy the video and the fun that it possesses. Dance it out! It ain’t that deep,” Colman replied in a post of his own.

He continued by quoting RuPaul, stating, “We are born naked and everything else is drag. Suits, t-shirts, dresses. All drag.”
