?It?s really not something I ever asked as an adult,? Riley reflected on her relationship with her mother, expressing that it simply wasn?t a topic that came to mind. ?I think it just was what it was. I suppose it just never came to thought, I guess.?

As she spoke about her father during that time, Riley speculated, ?I can imagine that my dad was really heartbroken upon hearing the news, and I?m sure that ? I?m just imagining ? I can imagine he said all kinds of things to my mother that we didn?t find out about.? Tragically, Danny Keough passed away in 2019, adding another layer of complexity to her reflections.

Riley fondly recalled that her late parents were quite adamant about not fighting around the children, which she believes is why she remains unaware of many conversations they may have had. This approach created a sense of stability amidst the chaos surrounding their lives.

?We didn?t know anything. We didn?t know about any allegations,? she stated. ?We had no awareness of that,? reflecting on the innocence of her childhood and the protective environment her parents tried to maintain.

While Riley has no recollection of discussing any allegations against Michael with her mother Lisa Marie prior to her passing a year ago, she does have vivid memories of that brief period in her youth, describing Michael’s presence as making everything feel ?bigger.?

She remarked that the chaos of his life, including the relentless paparazzi and devoted fans, was not particularly new to her family. As the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, Riley and her mother Lisa Marie had always been accustomed to living in the spotlight, which shaped their understanding of fame.

?Our life wasn?t crazier because that was already there,? she explained. ?But ? I think when she saw Michael?s life, there were things that he had that she didn?t have,? Riley reflected on her mother?s perspective. ?She didn?t have a plane at the time or things like that. She then was like, ?Oh, I should have a plane, and I should have this and that.??

Riley elaborated that prior to Lisa Marie?s marriage to Michael, their family led a relatively ?simple? life, apart from their famous lineage. ?She didn?t have 10 million assistants. She didn?t need all of that,? Riley shared. However, after marrying Michael, she noted that ?I think that changed,? highlighting the shift in their lifestyle.

Another significant change she recalls is that Michael had the ability to facilitate special experiences for them. ?Well, it was sort of like the only way that our family could do things, if we wanted to go to a toy store or something like that, or ride rides,? she explained, emphasizing the luxury that came with his celebrity status.

Riley has a vivid memory of walking through a toy store with her late brother Benjamin, who tragically passed away in 2020, during a moment when they were the only ones present in the store.

?So it was just my brother and I in the whole toy store, and we were just going floor to floor to floor and filling up our cart. That?s the first thing that comes to mind, but I don?t know if it was for us or just the way that our life was,? she reminisced, reflecting on the surreal nature of their childhood experiences.

Regarding life at home, despite the rapidly evolving public narrative surrounding their relationship, which often became tabloid fodder, Riley firmly believes that the feelings between Lisa Marie and Michael were genuine.

?The one thing I do know is that they were in love and that their love for each other was real because I was there and I remember,? she stated emphatically. ?Everything else, I don?t know because I wasn?t there,? underscoring her personal conviction about their relationship.

Riley explained, ?I went to a party at my friend?s house, but I didn?t know that it wasn?t my friend?s house. It was a house for sale,? highlighting the naivety of youth and the unexpected consequences of her actions.

She recalled how the police were called, and while most kids escaped the situation, she was among the ten who were caught and subsequently arrested. ?My mom was pissed. She was like, ?This is on you, girl,?? she recalled, chuckling at the memory.

Making matters worse, Riley had to call her mother, who was out of town at the time, to pick her up from jail. ?I had to call her and tell her to come back from Vegas and pick me up in jail,? she recalled, adding a humorous twist to the ordeal.

?I?ve never told anyone this! She?s like, I can?t get there,? Riley continued, recounting how her aunt had to come to her rescue instead. However, she compared the experience to Lisa Marie?s own rebellious phase as a young adult.
