Faye Chrisley—also known as “Nanny”—is the mother of Todd Chrisley.

“I am blessed beyond measure that God chose you to be my mother,” he expressed on Instagram for Mother’s Day in 2021. “I love you more than you will ever know, and you fill my heart with love, hope, faith, and confidence.”

Nanny was born in September 1944 and grew up in South Carolina. She married army veteran Gene Chrisley, and together they welcomed sons Todd, Randy Chrisley, and Derrick Chrisley, the latter of whom passed away as a baby. Gene also passed away in 2012.

While starring on Chrisley Knows Best, Nanny won over fans with her humor, enjoyable moments with her sister Frances (who died in 2022), dating escapades, and wise advice. Whether she was visiting the casino, raising a glass of wine, or spending quality time with family, she demonstrated to viewers that she knows how to enjoy life.

However, Nanny has faced challenges as well. In addition to Todd and Julie’s legal issues, Nanny was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. Two years later, she announced that she had triumphed over her health struggles.

“I’m in remission, thank God,” Nanny stated on a 2023 episode of Lindsie’s podcast The Southern Tea, according to People. “I’ve been out moving around, doing the best I can.”

Nanny’s approach to life has always been about doing her best.

“The world doesn’t always give you a good deck of cards to play with, so you play with them the best you can,” she shared on Savannah’s podcast Unlocked. “You get up, brush yourself off, and keep going.”
