This performance marked their first live show since 2012, following a decade-long hiatus. In summary, Crossfade originated as The Nothing in 1991 and released two albums—1994’s The Nothing and 1998’s Numb—before rebranding themselves as Sugardaddy Superstar and ultimately Crossfade in 2002. Throughout their journey, they experienced numerous lineup changes and achieved significant mainstream success with their hit single “Cold,” which served as the lead track from their self-titled debut album released in 2004.
In the years that followed, they released two additional albums, Falling Away and We All Bleed, amidst continued member changes. While the latter album received critical acclaim, it did not achieve the same commercial success as their debut. Eventually, the band went quiet, with each member pursuing different interests—Mark Castillo joined the metalcore band Emmure, while Ed Sloan focused on solo projects.
However, in October of last year, Crossfade made waves with the announcement of their reunion for live performances, culminating in their unforgettable show at Sonic Temple. This event will be followed by appearances at Welcome to Rockville and Inkcarceration.
