Cyberpunk 2077 Graphics Boost Released in Latest Update

Cyberpunk 2077 looks better than ever on PC thanks to an NVIDIA update. The 2020 game has seen significant improvements through updates over the past six years, including several that fixed its poor launch performance, added new features, and enhanced its visuals.

The latest upgrade to Cyberpunk‘s graphics, however, does not come from an update to Cyberpunk itself: it’s actually an NVIDIA update that made the difference. As of today, March 31, 2026, NVIDIA has rolled out DLSS 4.5, featuring dynamic multi-frame generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. The results for Cyberpunk are undeniably impressive, as shown below (via WccftechTV on YouTube).

Cyberpunk 2077 Just Got A Huge Visual Upgrade

Frame generation looks better than ever

You can see the results of the new NVIDIA update in the video above, which features a player driving around Dogtown from the Phantom Liberty DLC. The lighting is realistic (the reflection of streetlights off the player’s car is particularly enjoyable), the smog is immersive, and the environment is richly detailed – yet, everything runs smoothly, even as the player navigates busy streets and zooms in on the most graphically demanding areas of the map.

About halfway through the video, the player opens the menu and switches to Quality mode. The FPS, previously around 130, quickly jumps to an impressive 230 as they exit Dogtown to explore more of Night City. It may just be the best Cyberpunk has ever looked, all thanks to a major NVIDIA update.

What is frame generation, anyway?

Frame generation isn’t a completely new technology. It essentially works by generating additional frames between those your graphics card would normally render. Depending on the type of frame generation used and the game being played, this can significantly increase your FPS.

DLSS 4.5 represents the latest advancement in frame generation technology. It introduces a 6x frame generation setting that theoretically multiplies your frame rate by six, generating five additional frames for each traditionally rendered one.

Perhaps most promisingly, it includes a feature called dynamic multi-frame generation. This allows you to adjust its settings based on your display’s refresh rate. It then generates only the frames needed to reach that target FPS, resulting in a lighter load on your GPU and more consistent overall performance.

Not all games support DLSS 4.5, but Cyberpunk, often at the forefront of graphical innovation on PC, is one of the few that do. If you have an eligible GPU, try enabling DLSS 4.5 in Cyberpunk 2077 and experience the difference for yourself.
